Single-core 0.5mm to 3mm Non-insulated Bare Fiber Cable
$1.16
A Single-Core Bare Fibre Cable consists of a single uninsulated core made from PMMA (PolyMethylMethAcrylate) that transmits cold light from an illuminator without involving electricity or generating heat in the fibre itself.
These uninsulated bare fibre cables are commonly used for precise lighting applications, such as in signage or star ceilings, where they deliver concentrated light at the cable’s end. Because they lack an outer protective sheath, they can also emit a soft glow from the sides when used with the appropriate light source, creating a diffuse lighting effect.
Their flexibility and small diameter make them an excellent choice for lighting and architectural model designers. They can be easily incorporated into concept models for applications like streetlights, building illumination, or town and city mapping.
The ends of the fibre cables can be left with a clean-cut finish or equipped with fibre optic lens fittings, depending on the project. Lens fittings allow designers to manipulate the light output, adjusting beam angles and diffusion without the need for a separate powered LED fixture.
Bare fibre cables are available in rolls or can be custom-cut and prefabricated by LightEFX to suit specific project needs.
